Alumacraft Phantom 17 foot boat with 70 horse Evinrude outboard. Also included is a Minnkota Maxxum 74 bow mount trolling motor.
I have owned this boat for two years and made several improvements:
-Outboard was professionally rebuilt in late 2006, including new piston rings, rebult carbs, and new water pump.
-Brand new fuel pump and ignition coils (3) installed in 2007.
-New trolling motor batteries in 2007.
-New circuit panel in trolling motor 2007.
-New bearings, races, bearing buddies, wheels, and tires installed last winter.
-New bilge and livewell pumps installed last winter.
-New navigation lights last winter.
-New adjustable (gas, not manual) pedestal steats last winter
-New front deck installed last winter.
The boat is solid, and really great to fish from. I've used it quite a bit for musky fishing and walleye fishing on the river. It's a great casting boat, and I suppose you could even use it for bass if you're into that sort of thing - ha ha.
Motor starts and runs very well. Top speed is 34-35 mph with a new prop, and 31-32 mph with the current prop (which has a few dings). It's pretty darn good on gas if you don't run it wide open.
The boat has a Vexilar FL-8 flasher on the bow and a 1 year old marine stereo w/ cd and ipod plug mounted under the console. I'd like to keep these things for my next boat, but I'd leave them both for $3,900 total. You'll also see that there is a Lowrance unit on the dash right now, but I'm keeping that for sure.
The boat is a late 80's model, but it was a pretty deluxe model in its day. It's very comfortable to ride and fish in, and has lots of storange: 7' rod locker, 5 large storage compartments, two big livewells (one disabled -- I use it for garbage), and even a cooler between the seats! It's a great boat, and while she isn't in perfect cosmetic condition she has plenty of life left in her ... especially with all the improvements I've made. I take it out on the river all the time and haven't had any issues since I installed the fuel pump a year ago. Like I said, I have 100% confidence in the rig.
I know this boat inside and out, and I'll be happy to answer any questions via email. It's located in St. Paul, and I'll meet prospective buyers at landing to show the boat if necessary. Or I can run it for you on earmuffs in the alley behind my house.
Price: $3,750/obo ($3,900 with FL-8 and stereo)
REDUCED! $3,600/obo ($3,750 with FL-8 and stereo)
I've tried to be very thorough in describing this boat. Please PM me or email johnnesse@hotmail.com if you're interested. Thanks for taking the time to read my lengthy boat ad!
