I was ordering parts from Minn Kota yesterday and happened to ask the lady about refurbished motors. I once owned one and it lasted forever, anyway I asked where the got them to rebuild. She said that all of them were returns or seconds Chips, etc. and not worn out units actually needing rebuilt. I guess that makes them a good buy if you can find the one you want. Just spent another $119 on my Vector 3X. d.j.

How do you go about finding a refurbished one? Are they sold at a wholesaler somewhere?

Just a note of caution-I bought one from Cabellas in Owatonna a few years back. Got it home and read the info regarding the rebuilts. They don't have the same power that is advertised on the motor. For some reason they had a diminished power rating. I returned it. jerr

I've got a refurbished 65 pound all terrain on my boat, and it works awesome, normally over $600, I paid $309 plus shipping, and got a one year warranty. Money well spent
