Sunday eve May 11 2008 What a difference a day can make! Friday was a nice spring day, we had several boats come in with a limit of crappies. Saturday gave us some tough conditions, north winds and rain-snow most of the time. The walleye were biting real well for those that braved the weather with the cleaning house being quite busy. Today turned into another very nice day with calm winds and again quite a few success stories. A warm up supposed to make our way by weeks end, we're ready

Sat was brutal!! We did well though but it was almost more work than fun. Did even better Sun when the weather was nice. My boat with 2 people caught 105 walleyes the two days. For me it was spectaular action.

I agree Sat near Brainerd wasnt much differnt at our Duck Inn cabin- snow that blew at a blinding slant at 10 pm after an inch and 1/2 of rain- i just stumbled around in the cabin with my 2 canes protecting my new new hip-
did you snag any crappies on that end? did you troll or bobber fish? what colors or lures or did nt it matter? what dept? any gators or drummy's, sheephead?
they were having darn good luck on crappies on the north end in 3 ft of water
anyone catch a sunny yet or a decent perch? how was the boat traffic? boat landing dept for water?
glad you had a good time even with the weather

3 boats, no crappies. 6 ft of water was key. Anything pink or red. Shiners worked best. Some plastics. Appreciate the conversation with you last week Russ. Feel free to PM me.

Thursday May 15 2008 The forecast doesn't sound too bad with sw winds blowing in a little warmer air tomorrow. The walleye and crappie continue to bite when the winds have allowed people to get out. With the cool water temps I think the slabbers will bite off and on for several weeks yet. I haven't heard many pike being caught but most are after the "eyes" and slabs.

Thursday eve May 29 2008 We had southerly winds most of the day so we had quite a few boats go out today. The rain moved in and chased most off by 4:30. Quite a few walleye were caught, both slot and keeper size. Seeing a few more crappie coming in off the rock piles and shallows this week. I think it will only get better as the water temps flirt with 60 degrees plus. Sounds a little damp for Friday but SW winds may heat things up Saturday!
