Small flasher and spoons/lures

Just wondering, anybody tried small flashers, 4x1" or so in front of spoons or hardbaits on salmon or trout on Superior?
Just thinking might attract a bit more?

Never in front of spoons, but I do run a lot of 5-6 inch flashers and dodgers in front of small(1-1/2 to 2 inch) flies or squid on short leaders. Some days these are killers.

That's where I seen them first and just wondered why they wouldn't help attract with spoons also, I think I'll try a few times and see what happens.
