What is A.R.M.?

ARM, an acronym for Anglers as Role Models, is an organization created for introducing kids to the sport of fishing through non-competitive, organized events.

It is our purpose at ARM to introduce fishing to children of all ages, at a beginner's level, through experienced, seasoned anglers. This format not only teaches children successful methods and techniques for recreational fishing, but more importantly, it teaches them how to make it fun, memorable, and rewarding.

ARM is aiming to annually provide and sponsor multiple events and activities that will establish an equal opportunity for all children to learn, through their own eyes, why catching a fish is one of life's most cherished and memorable accomplishments. It's all about having fun, making new friends, treasured memories, and preserving a pastime that will last a lifetime.

ARM has been aligning it's efforts with other children focused charities, such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, by providing fishing events for their sponsored children and their respective guardians. Scheduled events and any event updates will be announced here on the ARM forum.

To find out more about getting involved with ARM or to inquire about scheduling an event, please contact an Arm representative at webstaff@in-depthangling.com

Testimonials:

When the kids (and adults) come in from fishing, their smiles make it all worthwhile. Most rewarding work I’ve ever done.

I have participated in the ARM event the last two summers. Each year the event keeps getting better due to the sponsors and volunteers. I fish several times throughout the year, but this one-day sticks out in my mind even on the coldest of January days. The anticipation for the next event starts the day after. I am truly blessed to be able to participate in this event. I hope to be part of it for years to come.

I'll tell you how it made me and my wife feel. This was the most incredible experience of my life, right after the birth of my son. It touched us so much, that my wife and I are going to be a big brother/big sister. I can't wait for this event this summer…. …..What an unbelievable experience. ~Troy In-Depthangling.com Volunteer

The new year of 2007 brings another great fun filled and very much appreciated ARM Event where anglers have the opportunity to make a difference in a childs life. We all take our many days on the water for granted but to a child who may have never fished before or only gets to fish at an event like this it means the world to them. And YOU can make that dream come true by taking a child and his/her big brother/big sister fishing.

The ARM Events are cordinated with the Big Brother/Big Sister Organizations from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Each boater/angler would take a boy/girl and that childs big brother/sister out fishing in your boat. All that is needed is life jackets, rods/reels for them to use and lures/bait to catch some fish. I always bring along some pop in a cooler for everyone in my boat.
There's no need to worry about where the fish are biting as we will have James Holst, Dustin Stewart, Dean [Everts Resort Manager] along with other guides to point you in the right direction.

This is YOUR chance to make a difference in a childs life while having a blast fishing and fun yourself. I am posting this now so you will have a chance to plan for this event. If you are able to help out with this great event please let us know by making a reply below. Thanks. I look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks, Bill
