Myself and a few friends will be heading to Chetek the weekend of the 19th. Have never fished this lake before. What should we fish for and maybe any advice on a couple areas to try would be great. And how is the ice?

This primarily is a panfish system and northerns. You can find walleyes though...the size isn't all that huge. I personally fish Prairie Lake and Pokegema. The north end of Prairie Lake is really good for panfish...up by Wolf's Den or Vets Park. You can usually pick up a few walleyes down by the bridge in Chetek. It is a fun system and there are a lot of places to try. I guess if you get a chance pick up a Hot Spots map for the chain. You can get them at Farm and Fleet, Scheels, Gander Mountain or Mouldys Archery and Tackle and Walmar.
