Below will be a list of people who have opened their hearts to help out for a very worthy cause. AND they will have a blast themselves. We are in need of ALOT of boaters and shore workers for the event. Please consider signing up. The area guides will point you in the right direction for fish and seriously these kids don't care what they catch. They just love having the chance to be out in a boat on the water fishing. This is YOUR chance to make a difference in someones life by taking a child and his Big [Big Brothers/Big Sisters Org.] fishing on June 22nd of this year.
PLEASE add your name in a reply if you can help. YOU can make a difference in a childs life.

I'll be there, boat in tow. Looking forward to another great outing!
For guys who are wondering what the fishing will be like at this time of the year, one word describes it: GREAT! Late June is prime time for pulling cranks for eyes and there should be a good live bait dragging bite too. There'll be some solid information from guides and other pool 4 regulars to make sure that boaters and their guests are pointed in the right direction for consistent action.
Answered my own questions.... As long as your are honest about not needing any experience fishing pool 4, count me in with my boat. I can help with shore as well, just excited to help out! What a great idea!!!

This is great! Thanks. 18 signed up on the first night. Still need ALOT more as we need 50 boaters plus shore help so come on guys and gals we need you. Thanks, Bill
just a quick note on how many kids get excited about this event, usually the MN side has a waiting list by the end of the first full month of being promoted. i was just in contacted with both MN agencies and both have assured me that getting the numbers filled is not going to be a problem. so please come on out and see a smile that don't go away for the whole day.

I will be there for sure. Mary has first chance if she needs me in her boat. If she doesn't then I am there for shore duty or I can jump in someone elses boat if they want a guide. I'm not technically a guide, but I do know my way around the river.

anyone happen to know what the shore help involves? if i can go, that is more than likely what i would be doing...i only have a 12 foot aluminum with no motor and no oars
-------------------- Back and better than ever...ok not really...but I am back anyway.
you can tire BK out by making him swim with a rope tied to your boat. that would work, would probably be about the same speed as a trolling motor. sorry brian, couldn't resist.

Cb2...Shore help is just giving everyone a hand from getting set-up for the event to helping the boaters get ready for the kids. But mostly,a bunch of fun!Hope you can make it!

We currently have 24 boaters. We only need 26 more guys. Great chance to learn more about pool 4 too as James, Dustin, and Dean will point you in the right direction for catching fish. Sign up today to make a difference in a childs life and have a blast fishing while doing it. THANKS Thanks, Bill
Kooty, If you want to fish at some point jump in with me. I've fished two guys, a big and a little before with no probelmero. Might be able to keep me off that sand bar in the WI channel?

If we don't get any snow,You won't have any problem finding it!
Or help push your packer loving off it!! I'm sure I'll bring a rod or two just in case I get time to fish some. However, I do ask i get to run the sledge hammer for at least half the stakes.

Calendar checked (really means that I checked with the better-half ). I'm good-to-go!

Hey King and all first timers,
I have been a boater every year since we got this thing going. It’s a great time. Most years we have gracious donors that cover bait, pop, water and snacks for the boat. Hot dog shore lunch or pizza!
Dean and James and Dustin will point you towards the fish. It’s a good mix of fishing, boating, sight seeing. The kids love it. They get just as excited over a 2 pound sheephead as a 5 pound walleye! Pull over and point out the eagle sitting in a tree or a deer on the shoreline. It’s all new to them. It’s really laid back and fun.

I can't wait! sounds like a very good time and helping out with showing those kids the beauty of the outdoors is just fantastic... also, glad to hear they'll be OK with catching sheephead! I think I've mastered that species of fish over the last couple of years . I plan on bringing out a variety of tackle - hopefully I'll be able to help them up with multiple species...
Thanks guys. We are getting closer. Its a good way to learn more about the river as the pool 4 guides will point you in the right direction for catching fish. Plus you WILL make a child very happy by taking him/her fishing along with their Big Brother/Big Sister. Thanks, Bill
Unfortunately, I will not be able to be a boater. Last time I took my bayliner I/O on the river, I ended up with 8' of water off the stern, and the bow on top of rocks. Thankfully, I was at trolling speed and didn't do any damage... but I don't think I want to risk it again.
So, unless a boater needs help on board, count me in as a shore helper
For now, things look like I'll be there but I've got some irons in the fire and I'm unsure of what that'll do to my availability this year. I know I promised some little girl a ride on my "hog" last year so I'd have to show as shore help to do that. I have the date marked on the calendar and I'll have to stay in touch for any changes.

Well Dean we have only 15 more boaters to sign up and we will have that magical 50 number. Thirty-five very kind and thoughtfull people have signed up as boaters and 6 very kind and thoughtfull people have signed up for shore help. Those kind friends will make a difference in a childs life for sure. They will also find that it will make a difference in their own life too from the great feeling of helping someone and they will have a blast fishing themselves. Its a win win situation for ALL involved. Please feel free to sign up if you haven't already. You will be very glad you did and so will a child. The child that you will be taking fishing will have an adult with them so you don't have to worry about anything. Just plain go fishing. Thats all that child wants. Just being in a boat on the water and maybe catch a fish. The area guides will point you in the right direction for where the fish are. Now thats a good way to learn the river when you have the guides tell you where the fish are and what to use to catch them. YOU are needed. Please sign up today. THANKS. Thanks, Bill
good to see you leading the volunteer charge, how about putting a post on the general forum, that way those that don't make it to the ARM forum can find it and sign up. we have already 9 people signed up from the twin cities, and i believe 6 from st. cloud. that was before they sent out the flyer and emails.
