IDA field staffer Jeremy Liebig is offering your choice of one of the three following guided trips, with all proceeds from the auction of this trip going to benefit the Brandon Rolen Foundation.
1.) A metro area muskie trip 2.) Trophy carp trip available for many areas including Mille Lacs 3.) Rum River canoe trip for smallmouth.
Jeremy's trips are really quite different from any of the other trips that the IDA staff will be offering, and provide a unique opportunity to target a big toothy critter close to home, to stalk the underrated "golden bonefish", or to enjoy a relaxing paddle down the Rum, interrupted only by the constant rod-bending abilities of bronze bombers!
This auction will close at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 9.
For anyone thinking carp....Mille Lacs has monster carp! Besides a few stories that I have heard, last summer I was out in the middle of the lake on a dead calm/blue bird day and saw a fish boil....drove over to it and there was a school with 5 of the biggest carp that I have ever seen. I would think the smallest was atleast 30 pounds! You could get a fish of a lifetime up there

Keep the bids comin' fellas! As far as the trips go.. A few details I'd like to fill in. All trips are good for two people, although the Rum River trip would require a follow along canoe, thus allowing three people. I'm also offering the chance to fish two different lakes in the same day for the metro muskie trip, as I rarely spend a full 8 hours or more on one lake due to size etc. I'd also love to see someone take the gamble and opt for the carp trip...All I can say is you will not be disappointed! More fun than a barrel o' monkeys and your wrists will ache for days. As some other guys have done previously, I also have some extra goodies to offer which will be revealed towards the end of the auction. Do I sense another wrastlin' match coming on from the likes of the Wellmanator? First goodie included in the auction is a brand new Gander Mountain 6'6" Guide Series spinning rod. Thanks Audemp.. If you win we'll have a blast. I too would love to catch a carp as big as good ol' Fido. We only need a 56 Lb. fish to claim the new state record. Also included in this auction is another brand new Gander Mountain Guide series rod. That's two total folks! This one is a 7' spinning rod. Do we hear another bid?
