Musky Candy spinnerbaits, Lindy Tiger Tubes, and small Bulldawgs. We will also be throwing the Dunwright Lifelike lures this year, especially the panfish model. On the metro lakes we have noticed a definite correlation between the schools of crappies and muskies early in the year.
As much as those critters like latching on to my #9 shad raps fishing for eyes after the opener(walleye), I wouldnt see a point to change if I were targeting muskies. Most days I do better than the people targeting muskies.
When I used to chase muskies religeosly, usually smaller bucktails and bass size spinnerbaits I had the most success on. The big lures would get follows, but rarely would produce a hit for me early.
