I was able to get onto Gull Lake on Saturday for only about 2 1/2 hours with brother and we caught 2 eater size walleyes. They hit the smaller red tail chubs on a lindy rig. The fish seemed to be anywhere from 12'deep on weedlines to 25'deep.
There were lots of people braving the windy conditions, I think many were there for a Northern Pike fishing tournament. The lake should be getting better as temps drop.
I have been talking to my father, the bite started about a week ago. They are hammering fish. Might be time for another trip up north Glad to hear that you made a trip up there and caught a few fish.
-------------------- Life isn't measured by how many breaths you take, but by what takes your breath away.
I took a couple guide groups over to Gull last week. Took 36 eaters out of there in 2 days. Many are in the 14-15" range, and several bigger with the biggest being 22.5". Caught fish from 13' down to 42', with most of our fish coming from the 25-42' range both days.
As soon as those weeds start to lay down, the big fish bite will really get started.
