For those not familiar with the "mark all" function there's a red button located at the top of the forum list that allows you to mark all posts as read so there's no red numbers or red rifle sights indicating new posts.
I like to use it when I've been away for awhile and there's too many posts to read... so I wipe everything clean and start fresh.
