Canada Recommendations

#599936 - 11/26/07 10:55 AM

I just found out that my canadian fishing spot has been sold and I cannot return next year. (Long Story)

Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations on where to go in Cananda for under $750 a person?

With gas prices I would rather not take my boat but will take my own food.

On the flip side - any place I should avoid?

Thanks for the help

Also on Eagle Lake...they pick you up at the boat landing and take you to the camp...
American plan includes meals
Housekeeping is cheaper but you do all the cooking...

I go up with my dad, my brother and a couple friends.
Usually 8-10 people in all.

jon - I take it you like Eagle lake. How is the fishing - especially if you don't know the lake? How many years have you been going there?

Thanks

Jim and Julie's Wabaskang Resort. The owners live in Iowa. Waverly I think...

Great walleye fishery....the owners will send you to the current hot spots, or hire a guide for day 1 and refish the same spots every day!
In the evening everyone gathers at the center of the lake for trolling blue rapalas for giant walleyes!
One of my buddies loves to Musky fish....so we spend a couple days throwing big bucktails for Musky and giant pike!

I agree ... Lac Seul is a great spot! We go to Lac Seul Lodge, owner's name is Dan MacDonald. His prices are right where you're looking. Nice big 17.5' Lund outfitters with Yamaha 40 4-strk, 30 gallons of gas, and 14 dozen minnows included in the price. Check them out with a google search, you'll be very happy with them and their accomodations.

Lac seul all the way! Dan has the lowest prices and the best equipment. Stay at Lac seul lodge. If you can't find walleyes on that body of water somethings wrong with you.Last year for three of us to rent a 17ft lund and a 40horse yamaha 4 stroke, ,cabin and bait & gas it was alittle over 550.00.00 a person

Check out Discovery Lake Camps. I have been to Dominion, excellant walleye and pike lakes. You drive right to the lake, and park your truck, load into the boats, to take to your cabin. You won't see another soul, except when they drop bait and ice on your dock daily... well maybe you'll see em

We've been going to Floating Lodges out of Sioux Narrows for 8 years...cost is under $700 a person and that includes gas to and from Canada, food, beer, bait, place to stay the night before getting the houseboat, duty, bridge fee, and fishing licenses. Besides, you can put the houseboat right out in the area you want to fish and use small fishing boats from there! www.floatinglodges.com

Lake Wabaskang was a really good lake for a good price.

I also stay at Jim and Julie's on Wabaskang. June is absolutely sensational for eating size walleye. Lake is right size to be able to find walleyes. They don't have a have a website but google the info above and give them a call. Jim has fished the lake for 15-20 years and bought the resort about 5-7 years ago. Good luck!

We have been going to Bow Narrows Camp at Red Lake for the past 9 years. Great place, awesome fishing, kind of remote, nice cabins, they clean the fish and package them, supply boats and gas. They pick you up in Red Lake by boat and camp is about 20 miles from town. Housekeeping plan is $615 they also have a American plan where they cook for you, but thats higher.
