I've heard rumors of smallmouth bass on Rush Lake (Whitefish Chain), although I have yet to see one come out of there. Any thoughts on if they're there or where they might be? I'm thinking the north side of the lake...sort of up by - uhhh, whatever that lodge is there; Bay View Lodge?

There are smallies in the Whitefish chain. As to where, well lets say that it is still a well kept secret. Ones that know not many will talk about on the Internet.
I do not fish it enough anymore but I still know one or two spots.

Our cabin is on the WFC and I can say that I catch 5 smallies to every largemouth, but then again, I am walleye fishing, so most of the bass I catch are on accident. That said, try techniques more often used for walleye and you may be surprised what you catch.
