Try Cache La Poudre for wild stream trout or one of the Red Feather lakes for stocked rainbows...

I was in the Breckenridge area last week of July - 1st week of August last year and did very well on the Blue and 10 Mile. There were also some areas flowing into and out of Dillon Res. and around Silverthore that produced fish and some areas towards Fairplay.

There is always the Colorado north of Silverthorne, I used to have good luck north east of that closer to Granby, but I know you are only about 45 minutes south of it.

I have fished that area. The cache is good to great if you hit a hatch. It'll drive you nuts watching the 'gold' dust settle out on your wading shoes. CADDIS< caddis, caddis. Use a dropper pheasant tail 16, or smaller midge. Long leaders, better use flurocarbon. Wear camo, keep low on approach. this water sees a lot. Always look for ants in the summer as well as hoppers, inch worms. Deep holes, get down in there with weighted nymphs, use a strike indicator.
Also the big thompson can be quite good also. Same fly chart here.
I fished the colorado from RMNP down to the pump house, excluding gore canyon. (Pump house is right below gore canyon) Did decent, and that was the last week in July. But I found fishing the Colo between the two lakes, a C&R fishery, was great, very early morrning, and about 530 til dark. (watch out for the moose, scared the @#$& outta me)
