The 2008 ARM {Anglers as Role Models}dates have been set for Friday June 27th. Everts Resort will once again be hosting this event, that is focusing on kids from the Big Bothers/Sisters organization for a fun day of fishing. Many of the kids have never had the oppurtunity to have a day of fishing.
This outing has been a very rewarding experience for all of the folks involved and we certainly appreciate all of the support, past, present and future as we kick off the 2008 ARM Event! We will once again be having an on-line boater sign-up. Thanks to everyone who can participate!

Could you go into some specifics of what we would be responsible for. What times we would need to be available. I think that it would be a lot of fun puttine some smiles on some faces, but I want to make sure that I can commit to everything that it would entail.

Boaters are responsible for providing equipment, expertise, patience, and a willingness to do some teaching and a readiness to have a good time.
There are always PLENTY of people willing and ready to help all the boaters out to ensure that boaters, bigs and littles have the best possible experience. That includes boat launching and loading, giving LOTS of advice about where the best bites are, helping kids into and out of the boats, etc.
For example, we were on a great crank bite last year. To get down to the head of the lake, we made a big conga line with experienced boaters in the front to lead a big group down the backchannel to the head of the lake. There, we all formed up into lines and pulled cranks and hoisted in fish. At lunch, we all gathered up again and played follow the leader back to Everts.

The schedule has been for boater to arrive approx 7 am with a noon lunch break and back mid-day...pre-determined or earlier based on the kids desire. Some want to call it a day early but most dont want to quit at all!
After the kids have left for home,we have a great time re-caping the days events and have the chance to visit with some of the very best anglers you may ever meet!
The main commitment that we ask of you, is a sincere willingness to share some of your time with some kids that very rarely have the oppurtunity to get out on the water that most of us take for granted.
This is not about having a fancy boat or having to be the best angler,we will help everyone to make sure they are on the most current bite info available!

looking foreward to this years ARM event, I sent a note out earlier that I would not be bringing my boat but would be willing to help out on shore events or head out with one of the boats. Its a great event and a fun time for all. Time to arrive at Everts is when?
