Quick Wisconsin stream trout report

#656527 - 04/01/08 07:30 PM

Since the carp aren't quite cooperating in my honey holes yet my buddy Takashi and I decided to head over to Wisconsin for some open water troutin'. The river we fished was a little high and muddy, that didn't stop the fish from cooperating. With the high water I figured they would be relating to current breaks more than anything else but every fish caught came right in the strongest current areas. Takashi opted for fly fishing and I chose the spinning gear with small Rapala Husky Jerks. Pink and Silver were the hot tickets as the Rapalas outproduced the fly. Thanks to my pal from the land of the rising sun for joining me on a beautiful Sunday relieving the hard water blues! No Brookies today...all browns between 12-17 inches.
