Announcing the 2008 IDO Official Summer Get Together on Lake Mille Lacs! This year’s Event on August 1st and 2nd will feature a Saturday night BBQ with turkey and roast beef, and a corn feed put on by Hunter’s Point. Following the dinner, there will be an “All IDO Launch” fishing trip. Hunter’s has two launches, and George recommends 20 per boat. So get your requests in early for this one! Once we have an approximate head count, George will give us a “Per Head” amount for the food and launch. Many cabins and campsites are open presently. Please make arrangements for lodging on your own. I do know at this time, the Motel, many cabins, and George’s old house (That sleeps 12!) and East Side are available. Please mention that you are with the In-Depth Outdoors Party. George mentioned that anyone with wheel houses or trailers are welcome to park by the creek. Showers are available at Hunters for those wishing to camp. Again, contact George at Hunter’s Point for more details on that. Their number is 320-676-3227. We will be looking forward to seeing all of you up there for fun and fishing!
This will be a great time. The Launch out of Hunters is a great idea to get a ton of us IDO'ers together, fish, talk smart, pick on Blue Fleck and have a good time. Not to mention, I have never been disappointed at the food and spread George puts out. Yummy, I can taste it already.
This is a must attend event if you ask me. All on a body of water that is world class for its Smallies, Muskies, and an occasional Walleye.
If time permits, I can see a seminar or two on the upcoming Fall full moon fishing that would be right around the corner from the event! I look forward to seeing a bunch of you up there!
Just reply here if you plan on going on the launch. Once we hit 20, I will start working on the other launch.
What we plan to do is sell tickets. One ticket for the food, and the other ticket if you plan to go on the launch. See me at Hunters that Friday night, and I will get ya all hooked up.
So far I got Helmet, Jane's Addiction, Ramstein and Godsmack lined up for the stage at Hunters after the launch trip. Flea left me a message, he will be going on the launch. And the rest of the RHCP will be arriving late but will also be doing an unplugged show in cabin #4 . Thats the best I could do.....
Quote: Hunter's wants to know if anyone is interested in Karaoke for the GTG?
The sight of Brian K and Chappy singing "Danny Boy" is already bringing tears to my eyes, and a little puke to the back of my throat.
That I may have to see...both shows! "Rumor has it" after one of the winter contests Josh was up doing some Kareoke I didn't see this but his cousin wouldn't lie about it
Oh, does this ever sound fun. I'm going to be up in the air - bummer. I would love the chance to meet some of you fine fisherfolk too. Being the GTG is at Hunter's, I'm going to do every thing I can do to get there. This will be the first weekend of the Sturgis motorcycle rally. I might be in the Black Hills. Looks like George and Linda won't be heading to Sturgis this year. We'll just have to wait to see how the summer unfolds.
-------------------- Looking for one to put on the wall.
Let's get this rocking! Who is going to make it up there for the big event? I am sure we will be having a fish fry Sunday for lunch if we manage a few fish. If George lets me and Fellegy run the kitchen again!!!
There are cabins available...let's rock the place!!! I will be putting on a Fall fishing seminar which should be timely as by that time, it should be right around the corner. I will have gear and baits there that we use for the Fall ritual...
Again, please contact Hunter's Point for reservations. They have very reasonable rates for this GTG, and George is talking about grilling turkey and roast beef for the event. If we get enough interest in getting a launch, we will take one or both out for an evening!
I had planned on going but now with the price of gas and a few setbacks it might get tricky.....
Still going to try like heck Is there any camping available?....I'm a outdoor kinda guy
The launch would be cool with me if the price is right
I'll be working REAL hard to make it!

I have a guide trip for one of my tourney sponsors on Saturday. But I do plan to be around for the "after the day on the lake" activities!!!! Also looking forward to the dinner that George likes to put on!!! You should not go hungry..
If anyone is around on Friday and want to jump in my boat for a little fishing let me know!
From the looks of the recent bite going on this year...this get together could be perfect timing for the flats and gravel!!!!
Make your reservations soon! There are still spots available. We will have the launch trip for those interested, and a top notch cookout by the Hunter's staff!
Plus, Saturday after dinner we will be having a seminar on late summer and fall trolling techniques by the IDO Staff.
Come one come all!!! We may have to have a good ole fashioned fish fry Sunday!
You bet Chris!!! Time to make plans and head on up to Mille Lacs and enjoy the great company that comes with the IDO group!! Staying and hanging out around Hunters Point can be a real blast also. Swiming, sun tanning on the beach or up on the grass......or fishing off the docks for smallies........opps kind of let that one slip! I really like to hammer the smallies off the Hunters Breakwater during happy hour!! ya kind of get the feeling of all those eyes on ya!!!
Make some plans to attend this fun fill event.......its going to be a blast
