Pelican lake?

#669859 - 05/02/08 11:55 AM

Anyone know how the ice is doing up there?Ive never fished it before but I am going up there to fish the Governors opener.Any tips?I did a little research and it looks like long lineing red tails or shiners on some of the flats works well.Ive fished Gull several times but they say this is a clearer lake. Not looking for your hot spots just want to make sure I bring the right gear along. Thanks

Hey castaway I went up to pelican lake this summer and it did have some nice flats. But the one spot that was great is the rock pile right next the the island. It is like a 10-30 foot drop. We happened to talk to a guide and he said that is they best spot for walleye. A great tactic to use is drifting or trolling a red tail or shiner. They did prefer redtails though. I am not sure on the ice right now

I hope i helped a little
