Was I just imagining it or did anyone else see the waterspout on leech at around 5:30 on Sunday. We were watching it for @ 10 min. It looked like it was in Boy Bay or @ partridge pt. My neighbors and I were watching it on the south side just east of Huddles. The news never reported it.
The news in the Twin Cities reported it right away. As of this morning all the news stations have some pretty neat pictures of it. Glad you guys are safe.
Thanks, I went to KARE11 and someone took a cell phone video of it. I would have liked to know where they were standing. I could not see where it touched down because Pipe island was in the way. First time I ever saw anything like it.
We were fishing on Winnie and saw it from there. Hope there wasn't much damage. Do you know if it stayed on the lake and then went back into the clouds before it hit land? It was strange watching it and not knowing for sure where it was.
The video appears to be taken a Brevik. I think what happened is that it hit the South side of Bear island and it went back up. It was amazing how quickly it disappeared. I would like to see if there was any tree damage. I know there are a few cabins where the tornado was going.
We saw it right in front of our cabin near Brevik. It was heading right for us but veered NE. It broke up just as it was about to hit the Claybanks on Bear Island. Very exciting. I have some good digital photos of it but dont know how to post them.

Quote: The pictures are in sequence as the tornado developed and then petered out when it hit Bear Island. They are taken from the shoreline near Brevik. I included my boat just in case the tornado came my way and it was the last time I ever saw it.

Those pics are incredible. What makes them even more spectacular is that most of the sky is clear and bright. And there's barely a light chop on the lake near the shooter.
Definitely a sight you want to see moving AWAY from your filming position.
