Anybody going? For those who don't know, it is held every June at the Coon Rapids Dam park. There are prizes and general fun times to be had.

Actually the only fish caught by my group of 3 all day was a sucker. We had 3 other fish on (2 were mine) that threw the hook after fighting for 5 minutes. My buddy had one hooked that was really stripping line off the reel. We were all thinking boat on that one.
The winner was 14.8 lbs I believe. Smallest fish category was somewhere areound 2.4lbs if I am not mistaken.
Even though I did not win or place, I would recommend this event to everyone. Seeing a block of 300 people running as one when the opening horn sounds was just plain cool.

hey it was fun. the smallest fish was actually 1.9 lbs. and it was caught by my cousin in our group. our group also took fist in the childs biggest carp. and second in the childs smallest carp. i did not win anything but it was fun to watch my two buddies take the prize. i only caught 2 fish. it is harder than you think when there is so many people trying to catch the carps. i was there for two hours and all the people around me did not catch a single fish. that was how slow it was. but i did see one kid run into the water chasing after his pole. he landed a 4 pounder. that was the show of the day. i'll try again next year.
