Hey, I was just wondering what fish are biting on East Okoboji on the the very North end. I'm talking above the Highway 9 bridge up to the Spillway. The bluegill were biting under the docks last weekend and was just wondering if there's anything new. Thanks

About anything that swims can be in there at any given time, I'm sure the whites and walleyes are up there someplace.

I will be in the area on vacation/honeymoon this week. I will give a report when I get back. It will be my 1st time fishing it open water, other than shore.
Any current tips are welcome. We will be targeting whatever is biting from bullheads to muskie

in the last 10 days i have been doing some fishing at the spillway outlet. I have taken 3 keeper eyes 2 in the slot and a bunch of dinks. A couple dozen perch, and have seen hundreds of silver, and or striped bass taken out of there, mostly on shiners. Seen 2 muskie taken out of there and even a few crappies. And a few bullheads.

And to bigshtick, usually iowadnr.com has good general fishing reports regarding the whole lake. Just go to the main site and click on fishing report in the left part of the screen.

Caught a variety of fish on different lakes in the area. Shore fishing was ok at the grade. Fished below the spillway a short time, but it was crowded and I didnt catch much.
Overall a good trip. Caught everything from gar to walleye. Plenty of bullheads too. I have NEVER seen so many DNR officers. I was checked multiple times every day I went out fishing. That got a little old, must be looking for money..

I'll admit I'd get irritated getting checked more than once or twice in one day, but I'm happy to see them out there protecting our resources.
