Now I don't fish Millacs, but this seems to be one of the better spots to talk Smallies. I was out at my local lake all last week and focused primarily on smallies. I tend to focus more on jerkbaits in the spring, move towards spinnerbaits/topwater & tubes in the summer and then rattle traps in the fall. Any other lure I should be focusing on during those timeframes? I caught some fish but had many follow up and then the fish would bolt away when it saw me or the boat, does this mean i'm not pausing the bait enough and they are just chasing? Tips are welcomed..

I'd give a wacky rigged Senko type bait a try, Either weightless or weighted depending on water depth. Or a Tube bait either Texas rigged or rigged on a Jig. Best of luck to you. Those spring smallies sure are fun!!!!!!

I don't know for sure about smallies but the largemouth were loving topwaters this morning. I couldn't keep them off my line!
