Missouri River

#681852 - 06/09/08 09:44 AM

Spent Saturday and Sunday on the river above Lewis and Clark. You didn't have to worry much about the sand bars this time. Only problem was all the mud. They must have Yankton and Fort Randall both shut off the way it looks. Zero current, lots of floaters, all creeks running in were full, and the Niobrara is boiling mud. Lucky if you can see a bait 6" deep at the Verdell boat ramp. The guys who went west said you run out of water above the powerlines and its still muddy.

We were up there this weekend also. I can't recall ever having the obstacle course of floating debris that I saw this weekend. Question is, did you catch any fish? We couldn't buy a nibble fishing for eyes.

Ya, we manageg to pick up a few bass but it was slowwwwwwww to say the least. I'll be back this weekend in hopes the water clears a little and the bite improves. If nothing else I need to run it all from the lake up. We have the BASS Divisional the week of June 22 and with all the mud I haven't been able to see the sand bars down stream. I thought it would clear up by now but I'm running out of time. It'll just take longer this way. At least if they keep the water up that may help???

Anybody been to Springfield in the last week? With all the water they were holding back last weekend is the ramp there under water yet?
