Hey guys, longtime lurker, new member. Before I get to the question I just want to thank you all for the good info I've gotten from this forum since moving to the area a few years ago. If you see a guy at the country club pits, k7 or any of the other little ponds around Roch with a 3 year old holding a sponge bob rod, that's me.
The question I have is this, what is the best boat repair shop around Rochester? Best quality and fairest price to be more specific. I bought a 92 Smokercraft Magnum last summer with a 75 hp Merc on it and after storing it this winter I noticed a gas smell when I finally put it back in the garage (I store outside in the winter and in the garage in the summer, long story). I opened up the bow hatch where I keep my pfd's and noticed that's where the smell is strongest. I checked my fuel gauge and noticed I am down more than a quarter of a tank from when I stored it last fall. Any ideas on what might be wrong or how much it might run me to fix?
same here i just had a pretty good expierence with them. took my boat over monday afternoon for a pretty big repair. said they should have it done for me hopefully by thursday. about 5 hours later i get a call its all done already! i would give them a try. dont go to universal marine.... thats all i have to say about them....
I don't have anything but good stuff to say about Mark at Kings Marina. I have done business with him and have been treated fair and the work was completed very quick. Just another option is all. Not tryin to take away from Al's.

Before taking it in you may want to spend about an hour to pull up the floor, tighten up all gas hose clamps and make sure gas gauge sender unit is tight. Look for any cracks in hoses or tank. Also make sure the tank is rigidly held to the boat and none of the brackets are loose. It could be a very simple fix that saves you a bunch of time and coins.
