Fished shoreline rocks on the east side yesterday. Pretty good bite setting up! Put about 15 fish in the boat. Most ran about 12-15 inches. Got this toad hooked up and she pretty much turned the boat into a circus. Left, right, up, down, in the bow mount, in the main motor! Fun fight and no worse for the wear. 19 inches of bad attitude! Took a tube jig in a foot of dark stained water.
Nice fish Jon! Just curious how the wind was yesterday on the pond? I was on Minnetonka yesterday and it was pretty windy to say the least. I kept thinking to myself, boy I'm glad I'm not at Mille Lacs today....but maybe it wasn't as windy there?
Saturday was the windy day. Let up around 2pm and we fished eyes till about 8pm. Pretty slow for my boat, mostly trolled spinners out near the flats. 2 overs at about 23-24 each. Sunday was nice as far as the wind goes. Just an occasional rain cloud would sit over my boat just long enough to get suited up, then the sun would poke out again. Fished eyes in the morning. Did better putting 4 slots in the boat rigging leeches on the edge of one mud flat. (North end flat that I'm getting to know better this year.) Switched over to smallies about 1pm and that really made the weekend for this guy.
