Just thought i'd throw out an opinion topic. What lake in the metro would you fish if you only had one day to fish, and why?

I would have to drive down and say Hi to Dean. Have heard nothing but great stories from down there and haven't made it down yet.

A "metro" (inside the 494 loop) "lake" (rather than river or stream). I'd pick Phalen. Most days you will be the only boat fishing as it is restricted to electric motors only. Stocked with walleye, there are some nice fish to be had. Good mix of bass, pike panfish too with an occasional musky.

Tough choice. Pool 4 or Mille Lacs...
Probably Mille Lacs do to proximity.

Lake Amen, Mn some of the best fishing there is for everything but ski's. There is no public access so the lake only gets fished by residents around the lake. Absolutely amazing.

The Croix, without a doubt. Mille Lacs if I just cashed one of my commission checks. Winnie if I just cashed a BIG commission check. Or if I could tow the boat with my Saturn....
