Since it doesn't seem like there'll be anymore June or July fishing reports I thought it was time to hold out some hope for a good August and fall fishing. It's kind of like waiting for spring all over again.
I did walk along the river and notice lots of new eddies and lots of shore fishing possibilities. The spots look good as long as the fish in the area weren't already washed out to Missouri. I'll be pulling out the panfish and bass gear and heading up north. See you in the fall.

yeah hopefully the fall will bring lower water and good fishing. the fish should be hungry after not eating for a while. headin north next weekend for 2 weeks and 1 week on a houseboat trip in Voyageurs national park. so i should have some pretty good fishing while i'm away. hopefully its low enough when i come back and i get into some cats down here by Janesville.

Is it me or am I the only one that needs a rock river fix.
I hope all you guys are doing OK. Been a quiet year with all the rain earlier.

Hi Everyone, It's been awhile since anyone has posted. How's the river looking and is anyone doing anything as far as walleyes? I haven't been doing a whole lot of river fishing myself. Just thought I'd check in and see what's going on. Good Fishing to all. Denny

Was out Sunday in the wind on Kosh and the river. Didn't post because it was not worth it. Saw a couple of nice sized white bass caught. Caught two white bass trolling the lake. Didn't see alot of people out.
Felt pretty bad when I drove through Jefferson and down the road to Blackhawk. Devestating. You can see the valiant fights some people put up against the flood. A lot of homes destroyed down river. Never saw an entire house of goods on the side of the road before.
Launched at Reefpoint. Bar closed. The lady yelled where to park and I asked here where to pay. She said don't bother.
Never in my life have I felt so bad for the nice folks at the bar.

I've heard some reports of nice fish caught, mostly on the lake and mostly trolling. A lot of big northerns, lots of white bass and some nice walleyes mixed in. I'm going to take the boat out this evening with an old partly disabled friend so we'll likely long line troll but I'll let you know if we find any fish. The fall bite isn't far off now!

I did make it out from about 4:30 - 7:30 PM yesterday. I started out long line trolling and didn't catch anything but saw others getting a few white bass here and there when they hit the schools. It got a little choppy by 6:30 so we headed back to Blackhawk in time to see the guys next to us boat a couple nice eyes though they said those were about the only bites they had all evening but two nice fish in their livewell. I finished at the stink pipe and had a hit and miss on my first cast then spent more time chatting to the guy on shore than fishing. He said the norts and a few nice eyes were biting last week there when it was hot and humid but he hasn't done as well since. It sounds like there's a few of those days coming in the short term forecast. It's unlikely I'll be back until after Labor Day but may get an hour or two here or there - so there's fish out there to be caught. Go get 'em!
