Do you need a permit to bowfish in the citys or is it against the law? What do you do after you shoot a carp? I have a bow and always thought it would kind cool to do so

for bow fishing all you need is your fishing license For the cities you might want to call the DNR about that if you are going to be shooting at a park or something that has a cement barrier between you and the river/lake.
After you shoot one, you can smoke it or however you prefer to eat it, use it for fertilizer or throw it away. You can't throw it into the water or on shore

It's a gray area. According to the DNR, if a body of water is fishable, it is shootable (there's a few exceptions). BUT, if it's not legal to discharge a bow in the city in which the body of water is, you're SOL. I have gotten the okay from my city PD, but there are a lot of cities in the metro area that won't allow it, or no one really knows the rules (including the cops). In any case, I don't think I would do it on a popular lake like Nokomis. There are a lot of people and you're sure to ruffle a few feathers, even if it is legal. I like to stay away from populated areas, no matter how tempting it is.
And please take your fish with you. Leaving them there is disgusting, illegal, and it gives a bad name to all bowfishermen.
