New Revos!

#687648 - 06/27/08 10:06 AM

Here's the newest models in the Revo series of baitcasters.

“The Winch”

From the Bassfan Store:
Quote:

The Abu Garcia Revo Winch was designed to provide pure cranking power and brute strength. The two main ingredients for the Winch's power and strength are the 5.4:1 gear ratio and the extra tough Duragear brass gears. The Revo Winch is built to withstand corrosive elements, the X-Craftic Alloy frame and side plates provide outer corrosion resistance while the HPCR Bearings provide internal movement protection. The HPCR Bearings also give the Winch increased durability and smoothness. The Carbon Matrix Drag System is rated up to 24lbs to handle the monsters of the deep.
Abu Garcia has made another leap forward in their Revo series with the addition of the Winch. The deeper spool of the Winch allows for more line and longer casts. The Revo Winch is ideal for deep water reaction bait applications such as deep crankbaits, spinnerbaits and swimbaits. The Revo Winch meets the demands of anglers looking for cranking power and strength.

“Skeet Reese Model”

Info on the Skeet Reese reel:
Quote:

When Skeet Reese won the 2007 Bassmaster Angler of the Year race he did it using Revo's and like all great tour professionals he continually finds ways to improve his angling skills. Enter the Abu Garcia Revo Skeet Reese, this reel represents Skeet's version of the Revo Premier. Building upon the Premier's lightweight frame components and smooth operation Skeet has added some key features that make the Revo Skeet Reese the king of the Revo family.
Besides the classic Skeet Reese colors incorporated into the outer body, the most visible feature is the extra large paddle grips and longer handle shank. These grips provide more surface area for increased fighting power and traction. The longer handle provides more torque when reeling. The Skeet Revo also has an increased ball bearing count over the Revo Premier, with the Skeet version adding five more ball bearings. The 10 HPCR Ball Bearings ensure smooth operation and corrosion resistance. The Skeet Revo also incorporates Abu Garcia's newest frame material X-Craftic. The X-Craftic alloy is a lightweight highly corrosion resistant material. The Skeet Revo has the beefed up version of the Carbon Matrix Drag giving this reel an astonishing 12lbs of drag.

The most incredible feature of the Skeet Reese Revo is that even with all the added hardware and upgrades the Skeet Revo weighs an incredible 6.8oz which is only .45oz more than the Revo Premier. So if you are looking for that added edge next time you are on the water be sure to get a Skeet Reese Revo and raise your skills to the next level.

Personally, I haven't had the opportunity to try the Revo line of baitcasters. From what I've heard regarding the Revos, they're well built reels. Everyone who's talked about them loves them.

I've tried them and like them. The premier series should have a burner. That winch model could be useful.

I like the cast control on my daiwa zillion much better. That said, I've hear guys who have all of the different Revos say that the cheaper ones wit hthe inertial brake system actually cast farther.

i have 4 revos in my lineup and i love the revo so far they are holding up awesome and i use the crud out of these things too i have the sx modela (black) and the model bellow which are gray and they are both awsome. i also have a diawa viento and a zillion and i promise the revos are better than the viento. as far as the zillion you cant compare a 150 dollar reel to one that is 250

i would say that skeet reese model would be awsome i will plan on getting one....
