GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding GPS Module Not Responding Never fails, night before a tournament...
I'm about to take my GPS module and throw it in the water. I checked all the connections, the fuses, tried reseting the unit.
I have an LMS 480 and keep getting the not responding message. Anyone have any other ideas? Do the pucks just go bad and need to be replaced eventually?

GPS not responding = no power!!!! check the fuse and wiring, if there is power to this then the puck is bad. for everyone, these pucks need to be on a switched circuit, if not they are always searching..and constant power!!! (draining battery) also there is an update here http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/Full-Size-SonarGPS-Chartplotter-Combos/LMS-480M/Downloads/LMS-480M-Software-Update/ let us know..

I had the same thing 2 months after I purchased it- don't bother calling Lowrance it is a waste of time. Mine was a new cable to the antenna. Lowrance will tell you the antenna should be 3ft from unit mine is about 9 inches no problem. You can check to see if you have power to antenna at the junction of the cable and antenna lead. Look to see if all the pins are the same length- I had power but one of the pins was not making contact. You can send your unit in but, if off warranty - its 207 bucks. good luck.

Same happened to me this weekend. Went to sporting goods store by the lake and they let me take a new module out to my boat. Plugged it in to unit and it worked fine, so I bought it.
