How about like this week? Maybe July 3rd in the AM?

The water is falling. But at this time all the boat launches are still under water or closed around Newville. It will be at least a couple weeks before we will be able to get on the water.

I found lots of bass in the northwoods in various stages of spawning, some just spawned, but lots still with full bellies and just starting to move up. I did manage to pull at least a dozen that were 18-20". The bluegills still had not spawned in any of the lakes I fished and very few fish were shallow. I also managed a couple big northern on spinnerbaits and to top it off I caught two huge walleye while bass fishing with a Texas rigged 5" Yum Dinger with a 1/8 oz. steel bullet weight and 3/0 wide gap Gamagatzu hook! The biggest one was just over 26". It was unreal but I'll have a photo once the film is developed. Ya think that'll work on the Rock? I also pulled a 20" walleye from Whitewater Lake last week on a Wally Diver. I tried Lake Wisconsin last week with very little success. Most bass were just in the spawning process but Monona/Waubesa was hot the day before that where we caught lots of them.
Whats the chances of the water being safe once it gets to a decent level? I was flooded on Rock below Janesville and as it recedes it is turning up lots of raw sewage and a horrible stinky muck, and a blue green algae. Since the sewage plants in Jefferson and Fort had to relieve themselves(pun)earlier on in the flooding, I can imagine that Koshkonong too will suffer? Are there any agencies, townships, counties doing any water tests? Be interesting to know what levels are of contaminants and if it will affect whether or not fish are edible. Good thing I dont eat fish!
Don't know of anyone doing any water testing but I'm sure they will or all ready have. I think I will join you and wouldn't eat fish for a while. I heard Anchor Inn reopened.
