The Calcutta is starting to make some tired noised and is overdue for a cleaning. What do you guys recommend for maintanence on these. Shimano oil in the thumbscrew hole? Grease or oil on the gear side of the spool? Any suggestions would be great. thanx

Call Trails End in Fridly(763-784-9080), they have a guy in the shop that does great work on reels, his name is Dicky. I have a few there right now too

The Shimano website also has schematics, and detailed maintenance instructions. If you want to make the huck from New Prague, Bob is right, Dickie will have you covered.
Considering the investment cost of the Calcutta reels, I would opt for professional servicing. Shipping should be cheaper than driving to a Shimano service center. The North American offices in SoCal handle this sort of thing routinely. I would never trust myself with this sort of thing on such a high end reel.
