Midweek walleye report

#689190 - 07/03/08 01:01 PM

Sorry for no pics, some reason have hard time taking pictures of myself.
Got out on the water Wednesday night to try a few new things, experimenting always goes better when your by yourself. Heard a hot tip that the fish were going on spinner rigs, so rigged up a 3 oz bottom bouncer and single hook spinner rig with a leech. With the heavier weight and willow leaf blade, was able to pull the rig at approx. 2mph along with two other rods with cranks. On the night caught 6 walleyes, most coming on the spinner rig. All fish came out of 9 feet of water and on the seam of clean water v/s green stained. If I would have stayed on my waypoints, I know the numbers would have been higher, but was more interested in looking at other parts of the lake. Nice to see the numbers and size of the white bass this year, did catch a number of those with some around the 15-16 inch mark.

good luck and go fishing.

Sounds like a fun night Doc.Next time your down to visit Dean would you mind asking Sandy to bake more cookies for Dean? His panties are in a bunch because I only left him a half a cookie from the last batch.I thought I was being nice by leaving him that much.

Thanks for the update. Interesting because I have about 2 lbs. of leeches and all my fish are coming on crawlers.
Doc. have you tried running floating cranks on a 3way?

Don,
I haven't tried any floating rapalas, but maybe tonight after work since I left the leeches in the frig.
Stu,
I'll talk to the boss and get her to whip up a batch.
