Couples Tourney?

#689293 - 07/03/08 11:11 PM

Last year my wife and I planned on fishing the Macs Twin Bay couples tourney but ended up not fishing. I've heard good things about the Macs tourney but have also had good reports about the Hunters couples tourney. I know that the Hunters tourney is half the cost compared to Macs but that's not an issue nor is payback. I'm just wondering which one she'll have more FUN at. She knows a few of the MTT regulars so I'm guessing Hunters will have more teams from that trail but I'm not sure.

Please let me know what you guys (or gals) have found to be the most FUN. It will insure my "donations" to couples tournaments, MTT events and most of the resort tourneys on the lake in the future.

Thanks, Adam

They're both a lot of fun. Hunters is more expensive entry, but George puts on a great dinner to go along with it. It also tends to have a bit more of a competitive feel. Macs is all about fun, and enjoying a family style fish fry afterwards. Plus, Mac's is a qualifier for the Cabela's NTC. If you finish in the top 2, you are automatically invited to the NTC.

Adam,

I agree with Jack's take on both of the couples tournaments. We usually fish them both, because they are both fun. Hunter's dinner is GREAT - the last couple years they had crab legs, chicken, steak, shrimp(?) and all the wonderful stuff to go with it -- including desert. We always look forward to the Mac's fish fry, too, though. They usually give out door prizes in addition to the tournament place prizes, so that a nice bonus. Both of them are always a good time. Hey, instead of picking one over the other, just convince her to fish them both.

See you there.
