What Mapping chip do you guys use on Wissota? I have the 08 navionics and it doesn't seem the most accurate. just wondering if lakemaster is better or if I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks in-advanced guys

There was a post on here asking about lakes in Wisconsin that people would like Lakemaster to provide in high details (1-2 foot contours or so). There was a lot of people asking for Wissota and I am not sure if they took action on that feedback. But I would really like to see Wissota on Lakemaster in high detail.
The current Lakemaster chip/CD is an enhanced version of the DNR Wissota map, I think. I don't know what Lakemaster actually does to enhance the DNR map but it is at least handy to have that version on the chip, however not as accurate as high detail.
Anxiously waiting for high detail for Wissota!!

Lakemaster is limited to the main lake. No rivers, no little lake.
Navionics 08 covers the system from up towards Anson landing, Yellow river, small lake, big lake, and even has the flowage between the dams.
Neither is particularly accurate...but they offer decent starting points. Plenty of interesting stuff on the bottom that does no appear on either map. Navionics is probably the best for the $$ right now, considering they cover all of the system and not just half of it.

I would imagine Lakemaster didn't include them because they are seperate maps on the DNR website. Just a guess.
Jason, in the Lakemaster 08 version they have added a bunch of DNR enhanced maps for Rusk and Chippewa counties. Do you know with that update if they maybe included the Chippewa, Yellow and Little lake portions for Wissota?

I did not buy the Lakemaster 08 chips. I have LM 07s for WI and MN, and Navionics 08. I'll wait to buy new LM chips until they start mapping some new WI lakes in our area.
One thing I forgot to mention is that the internal map on my Lowrance 38 has the entire system. I find myself running that at least as often as the Navionics map because the internal map updates faster.

Lakemaster says that the yellow, chippewa and little lake are still not in the 08 version. I couldn't get a clear answer on whether or not Wissota was in the near term plans for high detail.

I agree that the navionics, for now, is the way to go. More lakes for the money and as far as wissota goes, neither product shines over the other.
