Out again on Sunday for a few hours from 6pm-8pm to entertain the father-in-law, or hope to. The plan was for us was to try for some walleyes but for the second weekend in a row I was faced with a lot of nibblers to start and no fish. What I am finding in these areas is that these are crappies. We have been downsizing (jigging) to grubs, tubes and smaller hair-type jigs. From 6:30-7:30 we were able to catch a dozen crappie. Then from 7:30-8 prior to getting chased off by weather we were able to get three more crappie, two slots walleyes and a couple walleye dinks in another location. Anyway, drive around and you will see these schools of fish on your locator. We were able to catch these in anywhere from 10-25 FOW, shallow water was during low light. Also, working jigs anywhere from right on the bottom to up to 4 ft up. The locator should help give you an idea here.

Nice job finding fish with the locator. Any size to the crappies?

You know you're hooked on fishing when most all your pictures are of fish and the people who caught 'em.

Most fish were in the 11-12" range with two in the 12-13" range. Sorry no pictures. I need to work on getting more pictures uploaded, but had to clean fish before it was too late and past father-in-law's bedtime.

He doesn't read this so I will jab away.
