Anyone been on these lakes lakes (Riley, Lotus, Mitchell, Minnewashta) or others in Chanhassen or Eden Prairie lately?

My buddy Jake and I were out on Riley last week. It was pretty slow that particular day, but if your out there at the right time you can bass and pike. Pretty good sized panfish also. I haven't fished any of the others and one thing to keep in mind was we were fishing from shore, not a boat.

Thanks for the Riley info. I will check out the west side, I love fishing frogs and it is supposed to be hot on Friday.
Wife and I made it to Lotus last night. The Landing area stinks, launch boat, have wife stay with boat while I drive back up the steep hill and park in lot across the street. Walk back down steep hill and head out. Would be very convenient if you had someone with a handicap card, park right next to the lake.
Decided to check the lake out and made a tour of the East shore without fishing, marked high numbers of fish in 8'-12' off breaks. Saw quite a few swirls as we came up on top of ledges and sand bars in <5fow.
Tried fishing for 1/2 hour for sunnies in 8-12fow, caught a couple small sunnies. Threw a Horny toad over areas of pads as we made our way back along the west side, no takers.
I may go back and really hit it for Bass or Walleye's. I will try Riley and check a few others out this weeknd. follow up with a report Sunday night.

Never made it to Riley. Strong W/NW winds blowing right into landing on SE corner. Headed to Minnewashta and hit little Minnie (Protected bay on NE corner). Weather with COLD Front and Storm that came thru friday eve shut them down. I couldn't even entice a sunny on a live leech with a 1/16oz black jig. Another guy said he got 6 12-15" bass before 7am when I got there. He got 1 more between 7 and 1pm when he left. I gave up too.
Hit Maple for a club Tournament Sat 7/19, did good but lost a couple really nice ones in thick pads.
Hoping to try Riley yet before my next tournament on Sat 8/2, a lake choice format of any lake with public access with waters partially within carver county.
Hit a small lake last night (7/23) for 2-hours, got 3-nice bass on a black and yellow scum frog. One little 10" guy hit the frog just as it hit the water. Talk about having to be prepared, wow. As the Frog hit the water I saw a much bigger splash than the frog makes. I set the hook and brought him in. I'll name the lake later as other club members are reading this too. Send me a pm if you want to know.

Tried Wasserman last night. Did some trolling with a crankbait and Spinner while I ate my dinner, Nothing happening. Very Dirty brown, Milfoil mostly looked dead with clarity less than 1'.
Went to Scum Frog and Horny Toads over milfoil and pads. Scum Frog 0 vs Horny Toad 2 Bass (15 1/2" & 16 1/2"), Turned one nice looking Tiger Musky or Pike, saw about 24"+ of belly as she rolled, but no head or tail visible.
Careful, DNR test nets were out there.

RoosterSlayer, I just replied to your PM.
As I have been on 7-lakes in the last 8-days I have found one pattern when out of the wind and overcast, Dead Sticking Scum Frogs & Horny Toads in pads, thick milfoil & slop.
Hope to get out one or 2-nights on other similar lakes this week with our small club Tournament coming on Saturday. This worked great on a small (<200 acre) lake yesterday, partner pulled a 20-1/2", total we had 2-limts, smallest 14" in 4-hours.

Thanks! That would be a nice bag I'm sure. I will have to give your frog dead sticking a shot. Hopefully I can control my ADD.

Bass patterns similar in many area lakes.
We just had a Lake Choice Club Bass Tournament (Paper tournament, Measure, Release and record it, verified by boat partner) Tournament (18 club members in 9-boats on 5-lakes, Minnewashta, Minnetonka, Zumbra, Lotus & Ann) on Saturday and one pattern was consistent from all lakes including Mtka.
Deep Weed Edges 6'-20' with Jig-n-Pig (Tubes) were the most favored above the top finishers. They found Inside pockets along the weed lines with some outside points, cast into the weeds and pull jig towards open water. Earliest bite was HOT, bite tapered off as Sun got high into the clear sky.
Prefishing in Pad’s and Milfoil was great during the overcast skies on 7/28. Checked numerous areas and the Bass were turned on then, but almost non-existent in the pads and slop with the clear skies of Saturday's tournament.
6-Bass limits on paper, No Weigh-in: 1st 21 lb 14 oz 2nd 21-0 3rd 18-9 4th 17-8 Big Bass 20.5" from Lake ANN
Thats my post tournament report for now.

what lake did you fish? What technique did you primarily use? Pretty impressive weights for your club tourney, nice work!

I was on Minnewashta and we started with Scum Frogs in Slop. I am not much of a deep water guy, but know I need to learn. Had a measily 2-fish for 3Lbs. My partner is a real shallow water guy, we were in his boat and we switched too late. Guess I need to practice, practice, practice.

Here is a late report on your lake. Ended up getting out last weekend and did pretty well on bass.
We got out early but didn't really have anything to show for our topwater exploits. e started to get into some fish around 9 on the outside weededge in 9-12 feet of water. we caught fish on dropshot, using a 5' yum dinger, and t-rigs with a june bug pwoer worm. The fish would hit fairly aggressively and whe you put the smack down on them they would really put up a heck of a fight. The big fish shown are a 20" and 19". The 19" actually was tagged. that is the first time that I have actually ever seened a tagged bass.
We caught some fish on scumfrogs throughout the day but had very limited blowups.(Biggest 18" shown in picture).
I'm hoping to get ou again soon because I missed some nice fish on the dropshot.
