Got on leech Wed. morning, looks like the mayfly hatch is about over. Water temp 71
Fishing was good if your on the right spot we kept five nice eaters 17" and thru back as many or more over the slot, spinner and crawler or leech and floating northland jig head worked great.
We had doubles on twice today in one spot every time I trolled thru we had a fish on pick up your speed a little to avoid the perch or us an artifical crawler.
Even with the mayfly hatch Im still able to have decent days fishing, just need to change it up a little.
Good to hear the bite is still on. I got tired watching the fish sitting in 25fow all fat and happy. I only boated 2 last weekend but did not spend much time out there. My boat is toast for a while due to a bad bearing deep in the motor so you might see me in 12 ft red boat with a 9.9 on it fishing in Miller Bay.
Last weekend was hot out on the main lake. We must of thru back 20 overs on Friday and at least 20 more on Saturday. Man was it fun rocking and rolling all day on Saturday. There was a little bit of a chop out there. I was very impressed with the health of the fish. They were all very fat and healthy. We managed 8 keepers for 2 days and had a blast catching all those fish.
johnksully, an Bill Marty. yes Bill on my depth finder I see a ton of Mayfly's hatching and the clouds coming off the bottom. They are well feed now but some still bite and in the livewell lots of Fly's.
yes Leech has been rolling for the last two weeks on my Guide trips, every day when I get home I feel like Im still in the boat :grin Was up in the Federal Dam area the other Day and it was rocking. Left from a resort on the south end ran 11 miles only boat up that way but I run a warrior 19ft so my guests had a smooth ride caught a 28" eye and a 26" up there a few days ago.
They wanted a big fish never hooked up so I ran west to goose area and picked up 7 nice eaters. Yes the fish are healty and leech is really back.
