Pool 14 walleye outing

#690987 - 07/11/08 08:19 AM

I was on pool 14 yesterday (Thursday) and had no luck. The river was fast and dirty. I was going to say high also but that is a relative thing. I talked to number of others and no one was having any luck. There was a number of boats on the big bend by Cattail Slough and the only thing being caught were cats.

I also tried for crappie and bluegill and the only thing that I caught then were some trash fish called bass. They were all small so no big deal.

I will have to wait for next week to see if thing improve.

Have a great day

Yep!!! Pretty rough right now!! Tried my luck on Thursday. Only luck I had was pulling cranks in the sand pits south of Albany. Couple of small bass, one 13" crappie, and a couple pike that stole my favorite lure. All fish came on the same thing, #5 jounted blue shad, shad rap. Man they are hard to find around here!!!

What kind of boat were you in. I am running a Alumcraft with a Johnson 50hp and a console. Are you talking about the sandpit just above the loading area, you enter it from the back water. I was not in the one, but was in the one south just above Cordova.

Have a great day.

today was not a good day to be out on pool 14 with all the walleye tournament boats, + all other normal boat traffic. i'm sure we will be hearing how our local members did today soon. its been pretty quiet here during the prefishing and tournament.

fishon1,

I was in the pit just up stream from the power plant. Sounds like the same one as you. I was only in there for a bit over an hour. Were you the one in the white boat? I was in my old beater, Polar Kraft flat bottom with the 40 hp Mariner. Hope to get back out there in the next day or so.

3WAY,

Haven't heard a thing about the tourny results or standings. Anyone know when/where they are doing wieght ins?

Speed Trollin - my boat is gray. Were you the one with a female? I was also not the water skiers, that were making some nice waves though.

The tournament and prefishing explains the number of boats and some looked very serious.

Have a great day.

Nope! Wasn't me. One of the reasons I fish is to get away from the wife.
