Carps in the BP area

#691698 - 07/14/08 09:07 AM

Hi Everyone,
I'm need of some carps to put in the pond at my place. They really help keep our pond clean and it's pretty cool to cath them again from your own backyard also.

I would like a place that's close to home, so I can get them in my pond ASAP and not die in transist.
Any help would be great.
Thank you in advance

Better watch out for the authorities.........can't transport live fish in MN.....It'd be a shame to get pinched for transporting a carp..

You may want to buy Koi...Do a search on them and you will be fine...

Couldn't you bring your kid with you and be within the law for a BIG kids tank?

Good Ole Jarret always trying to find a loophole. I wonder if it is possible to draw some sort of permit for transporting them?

Why is it ok to catch and transport live bullheads and use them for flattie fishing then? curious why bullheads are the exception?

It's because the DNR defines bullheads under 7" as minnows. Minnows are okay to transport.

A 7.5" bullie, though, could get you in trouble.

I also think that since carp are an invasive species they are regulated differently.

They are not considered invasive anymore than walleye these days.
