Northfield, Faribault, Lonsdale area

From southwestern MN and going to school in Northfield. Any one know of some good lakes to give me a head start on the area? Looking for walleye and bass lakes, but any personal advice will help out more than reading DNR reports and downloading maps. Thanks

Carleton or St Olaf??? Theres a nice pond at Carleton thats got some pretty decent bass in it. Or PM me sometime and I could put you on some eyes on the cannon...

PS Both are shore fishing op's

Cedar Lake outside of Faribault is a good bass lake. French has muskies, Roberts is good for panfish and so is Mazaska. They both offer night time walleye action. I'm going to ask your question over in the Southern Minnesota Forum to see if it might get your some more information.
Thanks, Bill

Circle Lake, SW of Northfield, has a nice mix of fish. It is the closest of the Faribault area lakes. I'm not certain about the shorefishing opportunities though.
