Are there any campgrounds on, near and or around Lake Wissota?

There is a state park on the lake. We stayed there last year and it is nice. Very nice boat launch at the park.

Go to WI DNR and follow links to state parks. It is called Lake Wissota state park.

If you are looking for electric, the state park can be tough. Most sites are usually booked well in advance. There are a limited number of non-reservable sites, but they are first come first serve, and you can stay only for a limited number of days, but I believe it is quite a few. WTA

I personally love the state park. WTA is right, the electric sites are hard to get. I just did a quick search. There is one site available for 8/2 weekend and one site for 8/9 weekend. This weekend and next are booked for site with juice.

I also love Mallard Resort. The bar is great and the regulars that hang out there are a lot of fun. They cater to the RV group. I’ve asked in the past about tenting and they said they could accommodate, but they really aren’t set up for it.

Just to confuse you a little more, here are a couple more options:

I have also stayed at O'Neil Creek Campground . The owners and staff are a lot of fun. Again, it’s mainly the full time RV crowd, but they do cater rather well to tenters. They create a fun atmosphere and many times have theme weekends. For example, next weekend is Christmas in July. They have a contest for best decorated site. They have a lot of activities throughout the weekend.

One last option that isn't on the water, but close is: Pine Harbor Campground - (715)723-9865

Have fun, it’s a great area to visit.

As I mentioned before, there are nonreservable sites available on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested let me know, I am about 15 minutes away, but could go out and grab you a site, the day you plan on arriving, or the day before even. PM me if you want.
