Hi I Do Fishing guys... I am thinking about going to
Ojibway Resort On Pike Bay for 4 days in sept. and was looking for some info on how walleye & Northern fishing on pike bay is because i called up there and the owner told me that the water will be going down at that time and the channel to cass lake will be 1 foot or so. Dont want to load the boat and drive to Cass Lake.Is Ojibway Resort a nice place? thank you
You should still be able to get through the channel. If not, the launch is right on the North side of Hiway 2...right across the hiway from the channel to Pike's.
They really do a significant draw down on the Cass Chain starting in September. We been going to Ojibway for many years during the summer for a family vacation. It's a nice resort. Nothing fancy but we like it. Used to stay there every October for a fall trip as well but there wasn't enough water to float a boat the last few years due to the radical draw down of water levels.
In September you should still be fine depending on how much rain they get there the rest of the summer. Walleye fishing can be very good there especially trolling cranks at night on the flats and shoreline breaks.
Good Luck and say hi to Ken for me if you stay there.
