Vantage Trolling Motors pushing 18' Aluminum Boat

#694316 - 07/23/08 12:29 PM

Looking at the Vantage trolling motor as a option for a kicker what are the advantages/disadvantages of a vantage vs. Gas. I would believe the vantage probably cant push you as fast nor can it last as long obiviously due to gas. Any body use them and what is there experience with run time and experience of with how it pushes the boat around?? THanks!

The vantage is a good motor, but not as a kicker. The Vantage is a motor that should be used and is great for back trolling. If you are buying it to be used mainly as a kicker you will be hugely disappointed IMO.

I'll 2nd Lip's reply. I have one on my 17' Pro Angler. Backtroll yes, a kicker it isn't. Gregory

Just awesome for "positioning" or back trolling, but in light wind or calm days. I'd consider it a great extra item on a boat, but never to replace what you could do with a kicker.
