Lake Holcombe

#694342 - 07/23/08 02:00 PM

I also posted this on the Lake Holcombe page, but there hasn't been anything posted there for over a month, so I'd thought I'd put it here as well. I will be fishing Lake Holcombe the last week in July with my family. I've never fished it before and was hoping to get any kind of information available. From what I've read, muskies would be a good choice, but I'll have 4 little kids with me so panfish would be a better bet. I'll fish for anything so species matters little. Any tips, hits, tactics or general areas that may produce fish would be appreciated. Also, are there any special regs that I need to be aware of? Best nearest bait shop? Really anything provided will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

We got back yesterday and got your message today since I didn't check the site while on vacation. I sent you a pm back. Thanks for the info! The lake kicked my fanny for the first day or so, but after that we did OK. We tried different spots, but basically no luck on the crappies. Did OK on walleyes and even hooked a few muskies. Was a fun trip!
