Got a friend looking to buy a fishing boat. Wants a console model. What is a 1997 17' smokercraft with a evenrude 1996 88 hp motor. It has a minnkota trolling motor 55lb on it. What is a boat like this worth? He looked at it and said it was in great shape. Thanks for any help! Jim

Back then they made some odd horsepower outboards for "package" boats similar to what the Bayliner offered. If memory serves me, these were as Bill suggests, without any fancifuls like oil injection.
I friend has a 28 horse that sits in his garage idle because parts are tough to find and he needs a couple. I'm not sure how available or unavailable parts really are but it may be something to think about.

That price seems fair if there is a lot of extras with it. Have you showed him any boats in the IDO classifieds?? There is a couple of really decent boats in that price range. IDO Classifieds
