Lake Pepin trolling bite

#694614 - 07/24/08 09:58 AM

Last night I had a chance to take a first time troller out to Lake Pepin to do some trolling. I only get up there once a month or so but last night I was able to get on some fish and introduce someone new to the science and fun of trolling for walleyes and saugers.

We fished the lower end of the lake and caught most fish on #7 glass shad raps and walley divers in the 15-18' range. We did catch a lot of small fish but managed a nice 12 fish limit with the largest being about 22". Here is a pic of someone who is looking to invest in some trolling gear and one of me with a nice eater sauger.

A beautiful night on the water last night capped off with a burger and beer
