Battery

#694933 - 07/25/08 10:51 AM

Prior to hitting Rainy next week, I figured it may be time for a new starting battery. The one I have is not holding a charge well, I need to bump it everytime before I go (disconnected when it sits). Any suggestions on what to replace it with? It's a 12v kicking a 75 Merc 4. Thanks!

had to replace two batteries in my boat this year one was purchased at walmart 2006 and was 2 years old one was purchased at battery plus 2001 and was 7 years old. I went to battery plus and spent the extra money.

Are you running any accessories on your starting battery?

I have had my best luck with Interstates.

I'm running the stereo, lights, aerator, bilge on the starter, none for long w/o the motor running. The deep cycle runs the terrova and winch, I want to put the winch on the starter as I usually use that while started and want to save power for the troller. Thoughts? Thanks.

I would recommed a dual purpose starting/deep cycle battery. I have the best results with Trojan.
