I got an email from my brother saying he is going up to the lake this weekend and his son works. I interpret that as please come up so I don't get bored and have to drink alone. So it looks like I may miss this one.

Man I hate when people bring up sturgeon fishing like my brother and nephew. I keep telling them to stop wishing the summer away. We still got 1/3 a summer left, take advantage. Even though it started as a cool summer, I have a feeling we are going to have an extended fall.
Anywhoo, nice to hear that there will be 1 more before the sturgeon contest. Bob, the 23rd looks real good for it.

Well, this is it, our last contest of the year. It has had its' moments, with close contests, unexpected winners, and even a few honorab;e mentions for their achievements. I would like to thank all of you that have particapated, and good luck to those who are going to try again. Fished solo this morning for a couple hours and got blanked. Had fish tappin' away at my cutbait but they never commit. Probably sheepshead anyway. Heading back out at about six this evening to give 'er another go.
Flaco, they might have been turtles. We had 5 turtles last night, 3 in the boat and 2 that got off right next to the boat. But then again, they could have been sheepshead too, we got one of those on cutbait and used him for bait later.
