I'm going to be heading up to the Alex chain the weekend of the 9th and 10th of Aug. to do a little bass fishing. since this will be my first time fishing the chain I was hoping someone might give me a idea of what lake would be best to focus my attention on. Any help with current conditions or patterns would be appreciated as well. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!!!!

There is going to be a tournament out on the chain this weekend for bass watch what lakes those guys go on. otherwise Le homme Deiu is a great lake fish weedlines with a jig worm you can go fish docks also but alot of those docks get pounded this will be about the 6th or 7th tournament out there this weekend. Great lake for numbers. dont be affraid to fish all of the lakes though on the weedlines. black or green for colors is a good bet. good luck

I will probably be up there prefishing myself that weekend, for a tournament the following week. Just think "jig worm", and don't expect many bass over the 2.5 lb range. A limit of fish that size has won tournaments on that string of lakes. LOTS of bass to be found though, so numbers shouldn't be a problem.

Does anyone know of a good campground in the area - prefer to be on the chain someplace. I looked into the state park campground and they all booked up. Thanks.
